Waterfalls and ice-cold pools

Sapadere Canyon

Alanya Natural Wonders

Set in the Taurus Mountains near the village of Sapadere, the canyon is a favourite with nature lovers for its waterfalls, turquoise pools and the walkway that runs through it.

About

Sapadere Canyon lies east of Alanya in the village of Sapadere in the Taurus Mountains and was opened to visitors in 2008. The drive itself is scenic, winding past banana groves and mountain villages.

A walkway of about 750 metres follows the canyon with wooden bridges and platforms between the rocks, passing waterfalls and turquoise pools. The water stays very cold even in summer.

Restaurants serving local food can be found at the entrance and in the village. Comfortable walking shoes and a light jacket make the day more enjoyable.
